Truth Behind Wesker's Virus

I like the idea of Wesker-kitty.

The usage of term "genetic drift" was a vague attempt to make Birkin sound sciency.

EDIT:
So if I understand correctly, the virus Birkin gave Wesker was the progenitor virus that was all part of the wesker-project.
But seeing how Albert was the only one who survived, it's possible Birkin tampered with it and the virus he gave Wesker was different from the one given to others...
